I was reading the blog entries about Mask of the Rose and in the bibliography post there is a part that reads "We knew that bats – of several kinds – were going to have a starring presence in Mask of the Rose. After all, they did steal London. It was fascinating to learn more about how bats smell; how they hunt; what they eat; and how they mate (often upside down)."
